From the venue to the dress, a quinceanera can get pretty pricey, pretty fast which is why planning costs and expenses is crucial to the overall planning process and should be considered when choosing your vendors. More tangible products such as the venue or the quinceanera’s accessories are easier to look for and determine a budget for since they’re things you’re able to physically see and analyze what you’re willing to pay for them. Services such as photography and choreography, on the other hand, are a bit more difficult to estimate since you don’t really get to see the results until after you’ve booked them. That’s why I’m here to break down the possible costs of a choreographer to assist you in your budget planning.
Services such as choreography are difficult to get a set price on since it often varies depending on your specific needs.
Some factors that dictate the price are:
How many dances you want
How many people are going to be involved (how many people in your court of honor)
How many practice hours you need
Whether you need the music remix included or not
How many songs you want in the remix
Whether you want day-of coordination or not
Usually choreographers will have a couple of basic packages with starting prices that can be modified to suit your needs which will change the price accordingly. For example, in most cases more people, more songs, and more dances means higher price. However, choreographers typically charge $25-50 per hour of practice (most choreographers offer 10-30 hours of total practice time). The majority of choreographers also add an additional cost of creativity and labor it takes to actually coordinate and choreograph a group waltz or surprise dance. Personally, I never use the same choreography twice and I really try to make the dances personal and unique to each quinceanera which takes quite some time and effort to create.
Overall, I would say to budget anywhere between $700-$1000 for a choreographer. Again, it all depends on what it is that you want for your quince dances so I would really recommend contacting a choreographer, explaining your needs, and asking for an estimated price. But above all else, make sure that the choreographer is flexible to suit your specific needs and preferences because that will make the cost a lot more worth it and will reduce the overall stress. Remember that this is one of the only vendors you will be in close contact with on a weekly basis, so compatibility is very important.
